You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Present a written argument to an educated reader with no specialist knowledge of the following topic:
Some people say that computers have made life easier and more convenient. Other people say that computers have made life more complex and stressful.
What is your opinion? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
Computers facilitated a lot of tasks and took over many repetitive jobs around us, in various fields and industries. Digital systems definitely surround us and became embedded in our life. Their impact can differ depending on what prospective you are looking at. Despite their ability to transform our life into something efficient and seemingly comfortable, they can also turn our life to a nightmare haunting us, making it more difficult and stressful. I will explain how these two concerns coexist and how can they be dealt with.
Computers did indeed make our lives easier. They were important in actually making that happen entering all of our daily processes. To most people especially younger generation, they were able to adapt to these digital systems without problems. When people understand that technology, they will be able to better deal with it. On top of that people are utilizing these tools once they know it, allowing their creative minds to deploy sophisticated systems that will easily outperform that same creative mind in a particular task, without requiring anything but a low voltage electrical power.
Keep in mind, not all people are the same. while some are going after advanced technologies and modern lifestyle, some are hoping to go back to the old simple lifestyle away from all these advancement. They are simply not interested in learning about these computers, which results in the creation of these barriers between them and digital systems around them. This leads to making things seem more complex to them. And I agree with them. There should be a limit to what computers should go into, an assessment of its impact on community and whether it’s a necessity or just and additional feature.
