Media surrounding us.
We more aware of whats happening
we are able to communicate without restrictions
there is no control on the authenticity of information
Nowadays, we are surrounded with different types of media platforms, each streaming some kind of information that we end up consuming. Exposing ourselves to these kind of information, and actually have access to this wide rage of information, can either return to us in benefit or become our worst nightmares. I will explain what do I mean by that.
Having easy access to any type of information you might be wondering about, made our lives easier. It allowed us to be aware of whats happening around us. People were able to spread their voices and most of the time they would be heard, as they would help spreading their own voices among each others. Everyone, is exposed to some form of media. It’s been thought about as a white canvas that you can fill with an idea you would like to actually spread. It helped us to send any idea or a even spread a particular concern about an issue. People were relieved as they were able to communicate with each other uninterrupted and without much restrictions, at least not visible ones.
This has opened the door for many people to make use of this platform, in such a way that. They would actually spread information that is not true, spreading misconceptions about various sensitive topics, that will only cause disruption within the society. Being able to be delivered in many shapes and forms, there is very little control on it. As it’s seemingly impossible to be able to fully monitor the authenticity of what information goes from these media platforms into the brain of their receiver, making him take the wrong impression about a certain topic.
Given both sides of having wide range of media in our lives, we need to be very careful and actually selective in what we trust and what we don’t. This definitely is not as easy as it may sound, and we can get deceived easily.
